AFRICA PUBLIC SERVICE DAY CELEBRATIONS KICK OFF AT KICC, 10TH JUNE, 2025

The Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Human Capital Development and Special Programmes, Hon. Geoffrey Ruku, today presided over the official opening of the Africa Public Service Day celebrations at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), Nairobi.

This year’s theme is: “Enhancing the Agility and Resilience of Public Institutions to Achieve Equitable Governance and Rapidly Address Historical Service Delivery Gaps.”

In his keynote address, the Cabinet Secretary emphasized the importance of citizen-centred service delivery that is timely, responsive, and efficient.

“I urge all public servants to remain committed to delivering quality public services and to ensure value for money for Kenyans, who are the primary clients of government,” said CS Kiringa.

He further stressed the importance of recognizing and celebrating dedicated public servants while equipping them with the necessary skills for professional growth and improved performance.

In her remarks, State Department for Public Service and Human Capital Development Principal Secretary Dr Jane Kere Imbunya highlighted the need for continuous capacity building among public servants to help them adapt to the rapidly evolving work environment driven by technological advancements.

“We must withstand challenges to ensure effective service delivery to Kenyans, that is our mandate,” said Dr. Imbunya.

The speakers collectively called on public servants to embrace innovation in their work to enhance citizen satisfaction and build more resilient public institutions.

The three-day event brings together public service institutions from both the National and County Governments to showcase innovative approaches and solutions aimed at improving service delivery across the country.
