CONSULTATIVE MEETING BETWEEN THE STATE DEPARTMENT FOR PUBLIC SERVICE AND THE NATIONAL TREASURY ON STATUTORY DEDUCTIONS AT SOURCE
The Principal Secretary for Public Service and Human Capital Development Dr Jane Kere Imbunya held a consultative meeting with a team from the National Treasury led by FCPA Bernard Ndungu, Director General for Accounting Services and Quality Assurance.
The discussions focused on strengthening the implementation of statutory deductions for civil servants directly at source through the Human Resource Information System-Kenya(HRIS-Ke) and Integrated Financial management Information System(IFMIS).
Key deductions deliberated on included Pay As You Earn (PAYE), the Social Health Insurance Fund, Affordable Housing Levy, National Social Security Fund (NSSF), Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), Pension, and the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA).
The meeting underscored the importance of collaboration between the State Department for Public Service and the National Treasury to enhance transparency, compliance, and efficiency in public service payroll management
