Tuesday, 9th September 2025 – Nairobi
This morning, Cabinet Secretary Hon. Geoffrey Ruku and the Principal Secretary for Public Service and Human Capital Development, Dr. Jane Kere Imbunya, held a meeting with the Azerbaijan Ambassador to Kenya, H.E. Sultan Hajiyev, when he paid a courtesy call.
The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral ties between Kenya and Azerbaijan, with a particular emphasis on collaboration in public service and human capital development. Both parties explored opportunities for partnerships that could enhance service delivery in Kenya.
A key highlight of the talks was benchmarking from Azerbaijan’s renowned public service delivery centres, known as ASAN, which have been recognized globally for their efficiency and effectiveness. These centres provide a model of streamlined services under one roof.
Kenya’s Huduma Centres, which similarly serve as one-stop shops for citizens to access various government services, were discussed in comparison. The delegation noted areas where lessons from ASAN centres could be adapted to further improve Huduma operations.
The meeting concluded with a commitment to pursue knowledge exchange and explore structured cooperation between the two countries. This collaboration is expected to contribute to improved efficiency, transparency, and customer satisfaction in Kenya’s public service delivery.
