The Principal Secretary for ICT, Eng. John Tanui, this morning, paid a courtesy call on the Principal Secretary for Public Service and Human Capital Development, Dr. Jane Kere Imbunya, to deliberate on the operationalization of the Regional Centre of Competence for Digital and Artificial Intelligence (AI) skilling in the Public Service.

The discussions focused on the modalities for operationalizing the Centre, which is domiciled at the Kenya School of Government.

Established with support from UNDP, the Centre is envisioned to play a key role in enhancing digital and AI competencies across the public sector.

Further, the PSs deliberated on the strategic role the Centre could play in enhancing Kenya’s diplomatic engagements, particularly in the areas of innovation and digital cooperation.

Both leaders underscored the urgency of expediting the operational and implementation processes to fast-track the Centre’s official launch and ensure it begins delivering impact across the public service.
