PRINCIPAL SECRETARY DR. JANE KERE IMBUNYA COMMEMORATES MAZINGIRA DAY AT HER FORMER SCHOOL
Principal Secretary for Public Service and Human Capital Development, Dr. Jane Kere Imbunya marked this year’s Mazingira Day with a heartfelt return to her roots—Matende Primary School in Shirere Ward, Lurambi Constituency, and Kaimosi Demonstration Primary School in Vihiga County.
The PS led tree-planting activities, focusing on fruit trees, to honour the day while promoting environmental conservation and food security in schools.
In a show of compassion, Dr. Imbunya also distributed essential food and non-food items to vulnerable families, including maize, beans, mattresses, blankets, and soap.
The event saw the participation of both national and local leaders, who joined hands in uplifting the community and celebrating sustainability.
Residents benefited from a wide array of government services brought closer to them through the Huduma Mashinani program—ranging from ID replacement and vital records to HELB, SHA, KRA, NSSF, and even police abstract services.
Dr. Imbunya urged community members to register with the Social Health Authority (SHA) to access affordable and timely healthcare services.
The PS’s visit was not only a symbol of environmental responsibility but also a reminder of inclusive governance and giving back to where it all began.
