Dr. Jane Kere Imbunya is the immediate former Dean of School of Education and Social Sciences at Kaimosi Friends University. She has excellent skills gained from leading teams across institutions to accomplish complex tasks in successful pursuit of the institutional visions and missions. Prior to being Dean, she served the University as Director of Quality Assurance and Management Systems. She has also previously taught at Gaborone University College, and the University of Botswana, and been an external examiner at Kibabii University, Botswana’s Open University, University of Southern Africa, and Zambia’s Open University.
Her other notable assignments include serving as a member of the Presidential Working Party on Educational Reforms in Kenya, technical advisor to the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development on guidelines in developing Competency Based Curriculum designs and pedagogical strategies, and an education expert advisor to the Botswana Parliamentary Education Committee. She has published various books and journal articles, and been awarded a research grant as a principal investigator.
Dr. Imbunya holds a Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree in Arts from the University of Nairobi, a Master of Education (MEd) degree, a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree, and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD.) degree from the University of Botswana. Her professional affiliations include memberships to the African Curriculum Association, Society for Educational Research in Kenya and Botswana Teaching Professional Counsel.
