PS DR. JANE KERE IMBUNYA URGES OFFICE ADMINISTRATORS, DRIVERS AND OFFICE ASSISTANTS TO EMBRACE EXCELLENCE IN SERVICE DELIVERY.
Principal Secretary in the State Department for Public Service and Human Capital Development, Dr. Jane Imbunya, has challenged newly inducted civil servants in her state department to align their duties with the government’s vision of accelerated service delivery.
Speaking at Ole Sereni Hotel during the induction training for office administrators, drivers and office assistants, Dr. Imbunya emphasized that public service must remain people-centered, efficient and accountable.
“Every day you work, my fellow civil servants, you should leave Kenya a better country than you found it,” she said, adding that government services must be sufficient, effective and time-bound to meet the expectations of citizens.
The PS encouraged the officers to take advantage of government scholarship opportunities for advanced studies.
She revealed that the State Department recently sponsored 32 students to pursue Master’s programmes in Japan, as part of its commitment to building capacity within the public service.
Dr. Imbunya also highlighted emerging opportunities in digital transformation, noting that the Kenya School of Government has introduced training in Artificial Intelligence (AI) to prepare young people for the digital superhighway.
She was accompanied by senior officers from the State Department during the event.
