STRENGTHENING HUMAN CAPITAL THROUGH PROFESSIONAL EXCELLENCE IN HR
The Human Resource Management Professional Examination Board (HRMPEB) continues to play a pivotal role in strengthening human capital development by advancing professional certification, promoting ethical standards, and ensuring effective regulation of human resource management practice in Kenya. Its mandate remains essential in building a competent, ethical, and future-ready workforce.
During an introductory meeting with the HRMPEB Council led by CHRP Wycliffe Nyakina and the Management team headed by CEO CHRP Margaret Nguu, the Principal Secretary for Public Service and Human Capital Development, Jane Kere Imbunya, emphasized the Board’s strategic importance in professionalizing human resource practice across both public and private sectors.
Dr. Imbunya reaffirmed the State Department’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with HRMPEB to ensure effective delivery of its mandate. She underscored the need for strong governance frameworks, accountability, and strategic partnerships to enhance institutional performance and service delivery.
She noted that professional certification and regulation are key pillars in nurturing competent human resource practitioners capable of driving organizational excellence and national development. These efforts contribute significantly to building an efficient, ethical, and responsive public service.
“HRMPEB plays a critical role in shaping a professional, ethical, and globally competitive human resource workforce that will drive Kenya’s development agenda forward,” Dr. Imbunya stated, reiterating the government’s support for the Board’s mission.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of continued collaboration with key stakeholders, including the Institute of Human Resource Management, to strengthen professional standards, enhance capacity development, and foster a unified approach toward advancing human capital development in Kenya.
